Santorum to sick child: If you can pay for an iPod, you can pay for your drugs... that is, if you bought a new one every month and if you used it the price tripled.
Well, he did say "Ipad" and this was in context of how he thinks if we artificially lower the cost of said drugs, said drugs will no longer exist. For the record, I'm not saying I'm sold on his argument, just sympathetic.
So...far. There are plenty of Canadians (working in health care) that aren't real sold on it though. I mean, why invest that kind of money into your schooling if you aren't going to make that much money?
Again, I'm only partially sympathetic, just...providing what he would say. haha

The argument is a bit ridiculous though. UK, Canada and a host of other countries do subsidize drugs and they continue existing.

And...I agree with your initial point. That comparing an iPad purchase and medicine is a bit ridiculous.
