Guns

Guns don't kill people, an inadequate system for mental health compounded by low wages and a declining safety net does.

Mitt McDuck

Governor Mitt Romney, said in March that he would not promise any government help for students, and insisted that young Americans should not “expect the government to forgive the debt that you take on.” He then bid his nephews adieu and dived head first into a gold vault.

This Just In: Tennessee State Senator Casey Campfield Has AIDS...

The ”Don’t Say Gay” bill grew in infamy after Tennessee Senator Stacey Campfield, who co-sponsored the Senate’s version of the ”Don’t Say Gay” bill, traveled the country earlier this year making statements to the media like it is “virtually impossible” to contract HIV/AIDS through heterosexual sex.

Arrogance

I think there's been a great deal of arrogance on my part. The "term" liberal perhaps is vague. It does not mean the same thing elsewhere as it does in the United States. I sincerely hope I have not confused any international readers with this nomenclature. "Liberal" in the sense of free-market, laissez faire economics is far from what I'm advocating. It is my belief a government needs to check the power of corporate interests not too unlike the branches of government control one another. We should have some degree of democratic and not be at the mercy of an unpredictable market.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus Dismisses ‘War On Women’ As Fictional, Like ‘War On Caterpillars'

via Thinkprogress.org

“If the Democrats said we had a war on caterpillars and every mainstream media outlet talked about the fact that Republicans have a war on caterpillars, then we’d have problems with caterpillars,” Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said in an interview on Bloomberg Television’s “Political Capital with Al Hunt” airing this weekend. “It’s a fiction," he went on to say. "We have nothing but respect for caterpillars. They turn into butterflies! Beautiful, Christian butterflies! And what do women turn into? Not caterpillars, not even butterflies. They think they deserve contraception when they haven't spent time in a caccoon? It's entitlement. I'll say one more thing. If you're a woman who's not pregnant, you getter get that way!"
